Book Review: An Unlikely Proposal

Happy Monday, friends! How exciting is this??!! Toni Shiloh’s first Love Inspired book releases tomorrow, January 26th, in paperback!! First of all, take a look at the gorgeous cover of An Unlikely Proposal. As a longtime fan of Toni Shiloh’s books, I wanted to read this book even before I knew what it was about. Her books are all wonderful, and today I am so thrilled to share my thoughts about An Unlikely Proposal.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Their friendship can survive almost anything…

For two best friends,

marriage could be their greatest test yet…

Trinity Davis must not have heard firefighter Omar Young correctly. Did her handsome widowed best friend just suggest they get married? Omar needs a mom for his adorable little girls, and it’ll fix Trinity’s financial woes. But saying “I do” isn’t just business. From Harlequin Love Inspired: Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.

MY THOUGHTS

An Unlikely Proposal by Toni Shiloh is a fabulous modern-day marriage of convenience story.  Often novels with this trope, especially in contemporary storylines, seem unrealistic, but Toni Shiloh reveals convincing reasons why the two best friends should marry and creates a delightful tale that readers are sure to enjoy.  The gorgeous cover draws readers into this book, but the incredible writing keeps readers invested in the storyline until the very last page.

Best friends Trinity Davis and Omar Young consider marriage as a solution to both of their problems, but soon realize that their feelings for each other take a surprising turn. Omar’s adorable young daughters and their toddler antics add humor into the story, while Trinity’s health issues are realistically portrayed.

Toni Shiloh continues to bring a needed diversity to Christian fiction, and her writing style is very appealing to readers of contemporary romance.

An Unlikely Proposal is highly recommended for readers of inspirational fiction and fans of Love Inspired Inspirational Romance.

I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR/PUBLISHER AND WAS NOT REQUIRED TO WRITE A POSITIVE REVIEW. ALL OPINIONS EXPRESSED ARE MINE.

Book Review: A Future for His Twins

Happy Monday, Reader Friends!

I hope you had a great weekend. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on Susanne Dietze’s A Future for His Twins. Have you read it? If not, check it out.

About the Book

Will these children get their greatest wish?

A battle over a building

could lead to a mother for his twins.

Tomás Santos and Faith Latham both want to rent the same building in town, and neither is willing to give up the fight. But Tomás’s young twins want a new mom—and they’re sure Faith’s the perfect fit. Can these little matchmakers inspire Tomás and Faith to put their differences aside and become a family?

Amazon | B&N | CBD | Goodreads

My Thoughts

This was my first Susanne Dietze read and just as sweet as the cover. Tomás Santos and his twins are adorable and have some scene-stealing moments. I also liked the heart and kindness in the heroine Faith Latham.

Both Tom and Faith want to enhance their community but can’t see how they can do so without crushing the others dreams. And there may even be a secondary character or two who don’t want to see them together.

This book was an adorable read and a great way to pass the afternoon.

About the Author

Susanne Dietze began writing love stories in high school, casting her friends in the starring roles. Today, she’s an award-winning, RWA RITA®-nominated author who’s seen her work on the ECPA and Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller Lists for Inspirational Fiction. Married to a pastor and the mom of two, Susanne lives in California and enjoys fancy-schmancy tea parties, genealogy, the beach, and curling up on the couch with a costume drama.

My Thoughts

An Alaskan Twin Surprise is full of sweetness and a faith that warm your heart. Rachel Marshall has a secret that is heartbreaking as it is an opportunity for God’s healing and perfect work to be evident in her life. I enjoyed watching her go through the journey and especially with the cuteness of her twin daughters.

The book also had some good twists and turns that kept me wondering how they would be resolved. All in all, An Alaskan Twin Surprise was another good read from Ms. Calhoune.

*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required nor influenced.

Book Review: Reunited at Christmas

If there would be one song that perfectly summarizes this story, it would be the song “After All” performed by Peter Cetera and Cher!

Much like the lyrics in the song “After All”, the relationships in this story “Reunited at Christmas”, are true to real-life. Ruby and Liam were to their friends and most of their family members, “the perfect couple”. But even perfect marriages have rocky moments and the author didn’t shy away from portraying a very real love story between Ruby and Liam.

When the reader meets Ruby, they see that she’s experiencing amnesia. But even with a lapse in memory, certain instances in this story tug at her heart and make her feel like the small Alaskan town called “Love” is her home.

When the reader meets Liam, they know this from the start: he is devastated by his wife’s death—or so he thought, because within the first few pages, he receives a call from the town sheriff with surprising news that he couldn’t quite get because he cannot hear him. But judging by the tone in the sheriff’s voice, Liam knows this is an urgent matter. So Liam rushes to the sheriff’s office and discovers that his wife Ruby survived the avalanche that they thought had killed her and when he sees her, he is shocked but also overwhelmed with the love they shared.

Only problem is, Ruby isn’t sure she knows him or still loves him because the amnesia has blocked out her memory of her life as a wife to Liam and a mother to their son Aidan. As a reader, I liked how Liam was the perfect gentleman and support for Ruby. He didn’t pressure her to do anything beyond her comfort zone but he did gently coax her into remembering their life together. I also liked how the conflict in this story was perfectly layered.

The pacing of this story was perfect. The dialogue was delightful. The characters were captivating and the author’s storytelling skills are excellent!

“Reunited at Christmas” is a book that I will recommend to every book lover I know to read at Christmastime this year and the next because just like this holiday season, this story is heartwarming, inviting and sweet. Bravo to Belle Calhoune for creating this amazing masterpiece of a story!
