Book Review: The Entrepreneur’s Nurse

Happy Monday, friends! Today I am thrilled to share my thoughts about The Entrepreneur’s Nurse, the second book in Rose Fresquez’s Caregivers series.

Have you read any books by Rose Fresquez yet?

ABOUT THE BOOK

His trip to Africa is strictly business. Her attraction to a tourist is a prescription for heartbreak.

As a successful entrepreneur, Brady Sharp is always on the lookout for the next profitable venture. When he learns of a tourist resort for sale in Uganda, he boards the first available flight, ready to strike that deal—until he falls off a motorcycle taxi and misses the contract and his flight back home.

Being the sole owner of the only clinic in a Kampala suburb, Ruth Kirabo treats a variety of illnesses—from malaria to minor surgeries, you name it. After she stitches an incoherent tourist she rescues from the roadside, she doesn’t expect to see the white man again.

When Brady goes to thank the gorgeous nurse for saving his life, she’s on her way to the village, and he offers to tag along. Each day spent with her creates a deeper attraction—a threat to his long-term goals of becoming the next billionaire. Treating a bunch of locals, handling poisonous snakes, and digging wells—surely all must be temporary.

But why does his heart ache when she says goodbye? Is Ruth willing to risk her heart for a long-distance relationship? Soon Brady must make a conflicting choice: pursue his ambition or take a chance on love.

MY THOUGHTS

An Unlikely Proposal by Toni Shiloh is a fabulous modern-day marriage of convenience story.  Often novels with this trope, especially in contemporary storylines, seem unrealistic, but Toni Shiloh reveals convincing reasons why the two best friends should marry and creates a delightful tale that readers are sure to enjoy.  The gorgeous cover draws readers into this book, but the incredible writing keeps readers invested in the storyline until the very last page.

Best friends Trinity Davis and Omar Young consider marriage as a solution to both of their problems, but soon realize that their feelings for each other take a surprising turn. Omar’s adorable young daughters and their toddler antics add humor into the story, while Trinity’s health issues are realistically portrayed.

Toni Shiloh continues to bring a needed diversity to Christian fiction, and her writing style is very appealing to readers of contemporary romance.

An Unlikely Proposal is highly recommended for readers of inspirational fiction and fans of Love Inspired Inspirational Romance.

My Thoughts:

What a beautiful second chance romance, and marriage reconciliation story!
I’ve read and loved several of Liwen Y. Ho’s books and she is fast becoming one of my favorite authors! I absolutely loved this story! Matt and Olivia were such great characters, I loved them from the first scene on and I was rooting for them through the whole story! I also loved Micah, and the last chapter from his POV was absolutely darling!
This awesome story is told through flash backs and flash forwards, and while it took me a few minutes to get used to this storytelling style, as soon as I did I fell in love with it, it was perfect for this story and brilliantly written!
I loved this story from beginning to end and can’t wait to read Tropical Kiss and Tell (as well as the rest of Liwen’s backlist!)
I highly recommend Tropical Kiss or Miss! If you’re looking for an excellent quick-read romance that is full of depth, heart, and hope then this is just the right book for you!
(5 Stars!)

I grabbed this book when it was a free download on Kindle and read it for the pure pleasure of reading. No review required!

Book Review: Beyond Repair

Happy Monday, friends! Today I am thrilled to share my thoughts about Beyond Repair by Rose Fresquez. Beyond Repair is the third book in Rose Fresquez’s Eron Outsiders series.

Have you read any books by Rose Fresquez yet?

ABOUT THE BOOK

Her past is a string of bad choices. Is falling for a wanted ex-gang member one more?

Hiding from her troubled past, Jules Demski sequesters herself in the mountains of Eron, Colorado, the only place she’s ever felt safe. Her solitude is shattered when an injured man staggers into her family’s barn.

Burned once and still in repair, the last thing she needs is another criminal on her hands. If she can only convince her heart of this, she just might be able to resist the interloper’s charm.

Former gangster Lorenzo Macedo has cleaned up his act, but now he’s

running for his life. He stumbles upon a barn just as a bullet pierces his body.

Jules appears standoffish and cold, but the tender way she nurses Lorenzo reveals a soft-hearted, passionate woman aching for her own wounds to be healed. No woman has ever set his blood on fire like Jules, but he has nothing to offer her except a life on the run.

Can Jules and Lorenzo find redemption in the small town, or are their lives Beyond Repair?

MY THOUGHTS

“Let’s trust that God has forgiven us – given us another chance to do things right.”  “Another chance,” she whispered, nodding.  “Broken, but not beyond repair.”

Beyond Repair, the third installment in author Rose Fresquez’s Eron Outsiders series, is a beautiful tale of redemption, forgiveness, and discovering God’s constant grace.  This novel can easily be read as a standalone novel, but after reading Beyond Repair, now I want to go back and read the first two books in the series!

Rose Fresquez creates a realistic storyline of an ex-gang member who is ready for a fresh start after being released from prison, but finds himself in harm’s way after his former gang tries to force him back into that dangerous and criminal lifestyle.  Although I personally wouldn’t be trusting enough to let a stranger stay in my house after being shot, especially after finding out that he had been previously in jail, I truly appreciated the heroine Jules’ determination to nurse Lorenzo back to health, and Lorenzo’s honesty and desire for repentance of his past sins.

I am so glad that I discovered Rose Fresquez’s books earlier this year. I love the diversity of her characters and her sweet small-town Christian romances. If you haven’t read any books by Rose Fresquez yet, this is the perfect opportunity!

Beyond Repair is recommended for readers of inspirational contemporary romance.
