Book Review: The Naive Wife: Rachel’s Choice (Book #1)

ABOUT THE BOOK

She finds herself instantly attracted to Ejike, but there’s something about Doug and the way he’s determined to win her heart. Neither men are who they appear to be, however, making Rachel’s choice harder. Her producer and friend, Dongjap, also makes his intentions known, but could he be a little too late?

Rachel’s Choice is a story of many singles, seeking to know the will of God for their relationships and who need, beyond wisdom, grace to make the right choice for their lives. It is the first volume of a three-book fictional series about love and marriage – The Naive Wife.

MY THOUGHTS

The 1st book in The Naive Wife by Ufuomaee was a good introduction to the rest of the story. We got introduced to Doug, Ejike and Rachel, the major characters. It was kind of a love triangle story. Rachel was very relatable character.
I liked the pace of the story and the plot. It ended in such a way that made me want to pick up book 2 and read immediately which I did.

The book is filled with lessons of faith, love and sexual purity for singles before marriage.

Overall lovely book.

Book Review: Love Me Again.

Hello reader friends! Today’s book review is Love Me Again (First Love Series #3) by Tope Omotosho. Have you read her books? If not, check out this series.

ABOUT THIS BOOK.

After a close brush with death, she wakes up. The life she once knew is over.

Growing up, it was ingrained in Tahira’s mind to don the hat of wife and mother to perfection by fulfilling three roles: care for her family, be submissive to her husband, and remain devout to God. Yet, Tahira is devastated at her failure to fulfil one of such life’s callings.

Especially after a near-death experience causes her to forget the last eight years of her life and thus, makes the simple things complicated. She awakens to a life that leaves her confused and opens her to change her valued perspective in life.

Idris has always loved a challenge. To him, there’s no obstacle he can’t barrel through – even when one of his past challenges involved winning the heart of his rigid college sweetheart, Tahira. In the course of the many twists and turns life tosses his way, he doesn’t anticipate the hurts and frustrations that accompany his marriage. And now, with Tahira’s memory loss and more – Idris is left with choices that would either set him free from his vows to Tahira or open his heart to someone new.

Is there hope of them loving each other again?

And the first line is…

Are you Doctor Geoffrey Whelan?”

ABOUT THE BOOK

Doctor Geoffrey Whelan was in Japan when the tsunami hit, killing his cousin and grandmother. He has worked in medical missions for years to assuage his survivor’s guilt, and now that he’s back in Sonoma to help his family, he can’t figure out why he still feels so wounded and God feels so far away.

Then a mysterious young woman warns him that he and nurse Maylin Kinley are in mortal danger.

Maylin notices that Geoffrey is not the same arrogant doctor she met years ago in Los Angeles. Now that they are working together again in a clinic in Sonoma, she fights her attraction towards him because his confident, forceful personality reminds her too much of her abusive ex-boyfriend, who called himself a Christian.

She has been steering clear of her handsome coworker—until Asian hitmen attack the clinic and they are forced to run for their lives. Now they must race to figure out how the threat is connected to a young teenager whose life they saved—before everyone they love is caught in the crossfire.

The characters were so real, in an instant they drew me into the story. I wanted to know what they did, how they did it…

The story line is one you don’t read about everyday but one which is real and affecting lives. And the finesse with which the author handled it is unrivalled.

Book Review: Fate.

Hello Friends.

Lovely Wednesday! Today I will be sharing my thoughts with you about a book I recently read and loved.

Fate (The Perfect Time For Love) by Natasha Frazier.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Melanie Bennett and Detective Brian Morris met over a year ago when he solved her best friend’s murder case, and now Nashville’s annual Christmas festivities have them crossing paths again, could it be fate?

Melanie Bennett has spent the last six months in therapy to erase the self-assigned blame and eradicate the night terrors that plagued her at every attempt to close her eyes after witnessing her best friend’s murder. The Christmas season always had a way of lifting her spirits, and this year is no different. The spark within her to live again couldn’t have come at a better time when she and Detective Brian Morris are reacquainted, but first, she must believe that she deserves happiness.

Will the circumstances of how they met prevent Melanie from taking a chance on love?

Brian was drawn to Melanie when he first laid eyes on her over a year ago; he wanted to ask her out, but the timing was all wrong. Expressing interest in her when she’d just lost her best friend was tacky, but fate dealt him another opportunity when he walked into her hair salon delivering flyers for the annual stuff the cruiser toy drive a year later. Though Brian desires love, will his unresolved issues with his mother get in the way?

Every moment spent with one another can only be described as fate – a power beyond human control. Will this Christmas season bring about the healing and love both Melanie and Brian crave?

Fate is book 2 in the Perfect Time for Love Series (Sweet Christian Romance).
