Book Review: An Unlikely Proposal

Happy Monday, friends! How exciting is this??!! Toni Shiloh’s first Love Inspired book releases tomorrow, January 26th, in paperback!! First of all, take a look at the gorgeous cover of An Unlikely Proposal. As a longtime fan of Toni Shiloh’s books, I wanted to read this book even before I knew what it was about. Her books are all wonderful, and today I am so thrilled to share my thoughts about An Unlikely Proposal.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Their friendship can survive almost anything…

For two best friends,

marriage could be their greatest test yet…

Trinity Davis must not have heard firefighter Omar Young correctly. Did her handsome widowed best friend just suggest they get married? Omar needs a mom for his adorable little girls, and it’ll fix Trinity’s financial woes. But saying “I do” isn’t just business. Especially when the only vow they’re in danger of breaking is their promise to not fall in love…

From Harlequin Love Inspired: Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.

AMAZON | GOODREADS

MY THOUGHTS

An Unlikely Proposal by Toni Shiloh is a fabulous modern-day marriage of convenience story.  Often novels with this trope, especially in contemporary storylines, seem unrealistic, but Toni Shiloh reveals convincing reasons why the two best friends should marry and creates a delightful tale that readers are sure to enjoy.  The gorgeous cover draws readers into this book, but the incredible writing keeps readers invested in the storyline until the very last page.

Best friends Trinity Davis and Omar Young consider marriage as a solution to both of their problems, but soon realize that their feelings for each other take a surprising turn. Omar’s adorable young daughters and their toddler antics add humor into the story, while Trinity’s health issues are realistically portrayed.

Toni Shiloh continues to bring a needed diversity to Christian fiction, and her writing style is very appealing to readers of contemporary romance.

An Unlikely Proposal is highly recommended for readers of inspirational fiction and fans of Love Inspired Inspirational Romance.

I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR/PUBLISHER AND WAS NOT REQUIRED TO WRITE A POSITIVE REVIEW. ALL OPINIONS EXPRESSED ARE MINE.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I’m often asked when I started writing and I have to be honest, I can’t remember when I wasn’t writing. I loved books as a kid and like many authors I ran out of stories that I liked to read so I began to make up my own. I wrote my first teen novel when I was thirteen and my first romance when I was seventeen. Of course neither manuscript was very good, but I never gave up and after I finished Graduate school I decided to take some time for myself and get back to my writing. I’m so glad I did!

I grew up reading faith based books by Grace Livingston Hill so writing for Love Inspired Suspense is a dream come true. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

I currently live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with my husband of thirty-three years. My daughter Nicole is married to a wonderful man named Mike and my son Jonathan is a Registered Nurse at the same hospital where I work. I’m so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

I’m a dog lover and had to put my Westie named Mac down a year or so ago. I still miss him but now have a chance to dog sit for my sisters and brother. I try to incorporate pets in my my stories as much as possible

In May of 2017 I was the humble recipient of the Wisconsin Romance Writers Lifetime Achievement Award. I’m blessed to be a member of such an amazing group!

Book Review: Lost Down Deep

Happy Wednesday, friends! Today I’m thrilled to share with you my review of Lost Down Deep (The Rose Tattoo Trilogy #1) by Sara Davison!

I absolutely loved this amazing romantic suspense novel! If you are a fan of Christian romantic suspense this is one you don’t wanna miss!

About the Book

She is the only one who can tell the police who attacked her in her home.
If only she could remember …
Summer Velasquez is on the run from a man she has no recollection of after an attack she can’t recall.
Every face in the crowd is a potential suspect, so how is Summer supposed to know who is a threat to her and who isn’t?
After fleeing her assailant and the parents who lied to her about what happened, she changes her name and seeks refuge in Elora, Ontario. The small town feels familiar, although she has no memory of ever having been here.
Even in what should be a safe place, she can’t shake the feeling that she is being watched.
When Ryan Taylor strolls into the Taste of Heaven Café where she works, Summer is immediately drawn to him. However, he may not be who he says he is either. As her suspicions grow, Summer prepares to run again.
But at least one person is determined to stop her. Permanently. And if she can’t remember who he is, this time he may succeed.

My Thoughts:

This is a great romantic suspense novel by a new-to-me-author! I was quickly drawn into Summer’s story, I really liked her as a character, and I loved that even though she had amnesia one thing she hadn’t forgotten was her faith and her relationship with God, that was awesome!
I loved Jude, and I thought it was great that for a large portion of the book the author wrote him in such a way that it was hard to be 100 percent sure whether he was good or bad, which was total genius!
This book also has awesome secondary characters, I loved Nancy, Daphne, Shawn, and Cash to name just a few!
I loved that this book is primarily set in a small town, I don’t know if Elora is a real place or not, but either way I’d love to visit! And I hope the author will write more books set in this small town because I did not want to leave!
This book has a feel that is part Hallmark movie and part Lifetime Original Movie all combined with its own awesome brand of uniqueness!
Lost Down Deep is a fabulous book that is unlike anything I’ve ever read before!
This book hooked me at the beginning and kept me frantically flipping pages till all the mysteries were unraveled!
I highly recommend Lost Down Deep! I enjoyed it so much! And I look forward to reading more of Sara Davison’s books in the future!
(5 Stars!)

I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!

About the Author

Sara Davison is the author of three romantic suspense series, The Seven Trilogy, The Night Guardians Series, and The Rose Tattoo Trilogy. Book Review: A Future for His Twins

Happy Monday, Reader Friends!

I hope you had a great weekend. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on Susanne Dietze’s A Future for His Twins. Have you read it? If not, check it out.

About the Book

Will these children get their greatest wish?

A battle over a building

could lead to a mother for his twins.

Tomás Santos and Faith Latham both want to rent the same building in town, and neither is willing to give up the fight. But Tomás’s young twins want a new mom—and they’re sure Faith’s the perfect fit. Can these little matchmakers inspire Tomás and Faith to put their differences aside and become a family?

Amazon | B&N | CBD | Goodreads

My Thoughts

This was my first Susanne Dietze read and just as sweet as the cover. Tomás Santos and his twins are adorable and have some scene-stealing moments. I also liked the heart and kindness in the heroine Faith Latham.

Both Tom and Faith want to enhance their community but can’t see how they can do so without crushing the others dreams. And there may even be a secondary character or two who don’t want to see them together.

This book was an adorable read and a great way to pass the afternoon.

About the Author

Susanne Dietze began writing love stories in high school, casting her friends in the starring roles. Today, she’s an award-winning, RWA RITA®-nominated author who’s seen her work on the ECPA and Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller Lists for Inspirational Fiction. Married to a pastor and the mom of two, Susanne lives in California and enjoys fancy-schmancy tea parties, genealogy, the beach, and curling up on the couch with a costume drama.

MY THOUGHTS

I love reading suspenseful stories. Target For Revenge drew me in right from the straight as Sun encounters Mack, her friend from the boarding school they had attended, who was attacked by members of the North Korean Regime who are after Sun and her mother. Sun’s mother has secrets of her own and she does her best to try to protect her daughter. Laura Scott added a couple of surprises in Target For Revenge that kept me reading and guessing until the end.
